"Killing Time and Sapping My Strength"
This was the second day of just the kids and me killing time without actually paying an entry fee to one of the Disney parks. Bob headed out to day two of his conference, and the kids and I spent the morning at the Port Orleans Resort playground. It was entertaining and time consuming enough, but DD developed a potty training "situation" that required our return to the hotel room. Once that was taken care of, we decided to head back over to Downtown Disney for lunch. On the boat ride over, DD was getting really punchy and I was getting really tired. I have tremendous respect for any single parent of multiple children who attempts a theme park visit. It really takes alot out of you without an extra pair of adult hands to help out. Meals, lines, just about everything – is more challenging while parenting solo!
The weather was still gorgeous – hot but breezy. We got through the day just fine, but by the time Bob got back from his conference around 9 p.m., I was REALLY ready for our official vacation to start as a family!
On a side note, We were all sleeping well in our room by this point – even me. All the walking, fresh air, etc. had us good and tired each night! We slept like logs!
DS’s favorite part so far? Finding hidden Mickeys in our room, and all the cute things "Mouskeeping" did with Precious the lamb when they came in to tend to the room each day. One day he was reading a book to DD’s lovie, Pluffy. The next day he was all snug in a towel that was folded like a sleeping bag. Too cute!
