To the Mission Mouse entries. Photos are coming, I swear.

My mom is having a colonoscopy tomorrow. I’m nervous for her. This test is more of a precaution than anything else, but every time I think about it, I can’t help but think back to my dad’s test. I’ll never forget the day Mom called me at the church (I was working there at the time) to tell me Dad had cancer. Thank goodness my sweet coworker Jan was in the room at the time. I turned to her as I got off the phone and just started bawling. My pastor was, as usual, a God-send. He dropped everything to bring me into his office to talk to me. His reassuring voice got me through that day.

Dad is fine now, cancer free for five years. But that year, the treatment, the surgery, the worry, the fear…I was pregnant at the time with DS. There were days I was worried I was somehow hindering the baby’s growth, with all the crying I did.

Really hoping for good news this time.
