A New Old Trail

We live right by several state parks. One runs right along the side of our neighborhood. Bob and the kids had tried hiking back there a few years ago, but while walking they encountered a big buck and decided they had better casually, but swiftly, depart the woods. We decided to give it another go this summer and we were glad we did! It was a great hike, even on a hot day, and the only wild life we encountered this time were bugs, worms and baby frogs.

Speaking of bugs, DS clutched his bug book during the entire hike, working with his sister to identify all the buggies we came across. So stinkin’ cute.
