A few weeks ago, the current leader of the women’s ministry at our church held a meeting in her home for the rest of the committee. Our lovely evening included tea time, complete with scones, scrumptious lemon butter, and warm, aromatic loose tea. She mentioned that the scones and tea were from a tea room not far from our church that, until that moment, I didn’t know existed. I knew I must visit the tea room, and soon!
I decided my mom’s birthday was the perfect opportunity to enjoy this little tea room. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon of lunch, tea and scones that was such a welcome escape from the hectic everyday. What made our table especially charming was that none of the teacups matched. They were a charming assortment of blue, pink, and floral teacups. My sister and I were inspired and no sooner had we finished our tea, but we were on our way to an antique store near my home to shop for our own little mismatched teacups. I found three teacups to start my collection (pictured up top on this post.) One is Royal London and the other two are Royal Albert – I suspect they are all relatively new, but that’s OK, they don’t need to be antiques for me to be completely enamored with them. :-)
Darling Daughter and I can’t wait to have our own tea parties with these lovely little cups and saucers.
