Pink and Purple Streamers

Ariel's having trouble hiding her disappointment.

The votes (or at least the one vote that counts - my daughter’s) is in: Cinderella is the theme for DD’s birthday party this year. I went to the party store today and left with my arms piled high with pink and purple paper products. I stuck with generic solid pink and purple paper goods wherever possible to keep the tab under a small fortune, then supplemented with the more pricey Cinderella stuff here and there. I figure if Cindy’s face shows up on at least the cake plates and a napkin or two, we’ve got ourselves a theme.

Though I must confess, I’m very tempted by the darling Cinderella favor purses featured on Disney’s site…but who can afford $50 worth of favors? Cinderella, maybe.

The other contender for the party theme was Little Mermaid. After her initial resentment, Ariel pulled herself together and muttered that it was an honor just to be nominated.
