Sea and Sand - Day 2

Saturday! We started our day early (doesn’t every family with 4 and 6 year olds?) by slathering on the sunscreen and heading to the beach. For some reason (tides? global warming? who knows) baby starfish were all over the beach. We found one that we were relatively certain was dead and brought it up to our blanket to dry out. DD quickly began a “lection” (collection) of shells she found along the shore.

After returning home we drove over to Kessel’s Korner on 27th and Asbury for lunch with Gram and Ho Ho. This place has tremendous sentimental value for me as I ate there numerous times every year I vacationed in Ocean City as a child (the place we rented was right down the street.)

Later, DS and I had some one on one time walking down the boardwalk together. We stopped for popcorn at Johnsons, and went by Atlantic Books for some Magic Pen Activity books (another vacation staple from my childhood.)

Gram made my favorite for dinner - her homemade beef stroganoff. Does it get any better than this?? Stop by the gallery for photos!
