Homeschool Wrap-Up
Last week, we officially “closed up shop” downstairs in our classroom. We are only going to be “out of school” for the month of June, so there wasn’t too much to do, but we did have quite a bit of school work to be filed in the kids’ binders. Darling Daughter helped punch the holes using our three hole punch (love that thing) and we finally had all the paperwork contained. In addition to the binders, I purchased two long, flat plastic containers to house all the bulky projects we completed this year. It felt great to slide those binders and containers on the shelf. Our first school year is complete!
So June we have off (well, the kids have off - I’ve been planning like crazy) and in July we will have a “Summer Session” of quick lessons (two a day, I’m thinking) just to keep the cranial gears turning. Sweet Son has a few math pages to complete, Darling Daughter has her number and letter review to keep her busy, and they will both be doing a few more art projects before our art show shindig in August for the grandparents. The second week in August will also be our official “back to school” week. That’s when we’ll get started in volume one of The Weaver Curriculum.
So until then, I’ll be reading through Teaching Tips and Techniques again, getting my Teacher’s Friend Binder put together, and planning, planning, planning!
