Vacation and a Great Read!

Well, hello! We’ve been on vacation this past week in sunny Huntington Beach, CA. A lovely time was had by all. We visited Disneyland and Legoland while we were there. We could almost see a bright beam of light and hear the angels sing a chorus of “Ahhhhhs” as DS stepped into Legoland. He was in his home world. Disney was magical as always, though spending an oh-so-short day there just made me crave my beloved Florida Disney World. That will have to wait for now. DD got to ride two rollercoasters while in Legoland. The first one, a dragon coaster, she liked. The second, the Lego test track - not so much.

Now it’s time to shift gears, AGAIN, to homeschool time. Last year we took a September vacation as well. It was fun, flying in the face of “back to school” by frolicking off to Florida. But this year, I’m thinking back to school time may have been best left uninterrupted. Don’t get me wrong, we had a GREAT family vacation, but I think next year we will save our vacation for the winter time. Getting myself back into homeschool mode has been rough this week.

So, on to the good read. While on the plane home, I finished Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. Man. What an awesome book. It’s a true story, told by the two men who experienced it. It was powerful, funny, heart-warming, and incredibly sad all at the same time.

Here’s a little gallery from our trip. Enjoy!
