There’s a Tree in my Living Room

It’s always kinda funny looking when the Christmas tree is assembled (we have a fake one), but there isn’t anything on it yet. Like, hey….why is there a Douglas Fur growing in our house? Our tree is set up in the living room, but after discovering that two strings of lights are dead, we had to halt our tree trimming. I actually welcomed the break. Those branches can be murder on my hands. Especially since Bob was busy pulling out our microwave in the kitchen to make room for our new one, and DS was busy sitting watching me on the couch, telling me I didn’t have enough "smile on."

So tomorrow we’ll hit Target and get some lights (color lights…always the bright colors) and finish the stringing the lights, plugging in all the spaceships (DS’s favorite part), and adding my favorite childhood and antique ornaments. Photos to follow!

  1. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe how many of you are decorating already! And I hear you with the nonfunctioning light sets, too. Fake tree or real, there’s nothing more annoying!

  2. I can’t wait to see your tree photos. How funny about the comment that you didn’t have enough “smile on.” I love that. I may have to lift it and use it on my kids. My 15 y/o sometimes forgets to put her “smile on” and that would be a gentle way to remind her to cut the attitude and be the lovely girl I know she can be.
