A Volcanic Experience

So here are the volcano photos I mentioned. We made the art clay recipe in the resource section of the Weaver Curriculum Volume 1. Inside, we propped a cleaned out smoothie bottle on top of a small tupperware bowl. Then we simply smooshed the art clay all around the containers to form the volcano. Once everything dried in the sun, we painted it, then hauled the whole thing over to my parents house for the inaugural eruption.

Vinegar and baking soda are now in short supply around here, as this was an extremely active volcano. Here are the photos we took of the finished product, along with some assembly photos.

  4. Looks great! I remember making a volcano with mine a few years back for Astronomy (it was on Mars). They loved it! Looks like yours did too…
