What We’ve Been Weaving

We are currently on chapter 4 of The Weaver Curriculum, working on our memory books and adding to our time lines. DS decided on Roger Bacon and Sir Isaac Newton for his science report, and since he’s been typing it on the computer, he’s getting a bit of a computer/word processing lesson as well. This chapter has seemed kind of low-key thus far, but I’m fine with low-key right now!

The photos below are from Chapter 2, I believe (the houses around the world project). In case you can’t read our labeling, They are a Tanzanian hut, a Kenyan Hut, a Navajo Log Cabin, and a Chinese earthquake shelter (RJ saw photos of the tents those affected by the China earthquake were living in and wanted to recreate one.)

  1. Great projects! I should do more fun stuff like that with mine. We get so sidetracked because of little fingers into everything that sometimes projects have to be left for nap times etc. Yours look beautiful!

Those are lovely. I love Weaver, it’s such fun!
On a recent holiday we went into a Zulu culutural village (South Africa) and we were invited into the hut. It was a really great experience. The bare earth on your feet, the delicious smell of thatch and the coolness of the mud, just the same as it’s been for centuries. Only thing was the fire in the middle, and no chimney, mmmm.
