Cap Day
This week at Pre-K is brought to you by the letter "c" and in celebration of that fact, today is "cap day." DS chose his Mickey ears. He wore his beanie proudly all day. I heard his teachers discussing that DS was a calming influence in their class. Sent to slow them down. Yeah, we don’t call him "Slow Mo" for nothing. The kid takes 5 minutes just to get in or out of the car.
We are still in messy nest mode here. However, the house (specifically the upstairs) is finally regaining a bit of order after switching DD into her big girl room this past Saturday. What an undertaking! You never know how much junk you have until you start switching closets and rooms around. She moved into the studio/guest room, and what was the nursery is now my studio. Originally, we were going to just move her crib in there first. It would get her used to the room slowly, and would also allow me time to gradually move all the stuff out of the room. Well, last week DD fell out of her crib (as a result of leaning over the bars) so that plan was out the window. On Saturday, we decided to buy a toddler bed and move her lock, stock and barrel.
The upside of all this hard work, reorganization, cleaning, and purging is that now I have my studio. The studio I decorated in my mind while rocking my babies in the nursery. I remember thinking about how long I’d be waiting for the room to change hands…it seemed a long way off. Kind of bittersweet, really. I’ve gained a room all my own, but my baby girl has graduated to "big girl room" status. Still not sure if I’m ready for that part!

Love those Mickey ears! What a cutie pie.
Good luck setting up your new studio…that’s half the fun of scrapping, right?
